OpenCloud launches desktop app and iOS app for seamless file management

Berlin, 07. May 2025 - OpenCloud, the powerful open source platform for file management, file sharingand digital collaboration, is now available not only in the browser, but also as a desktop appand iOS app. This makes accessing files and projects even easier and more flexible -seamlessly across all devices.

Direct file access via the desktop

With the new desktop app, OpenCloudexpands its solution with a convenient way, directly from the computer to access files in the cloud. The data is available via the client using the local file manager and can also be edited offline thanks to automatic synchronisation. An integrated context menu in the file manager also offers quick functions such as copying links, opening shares or accessing the version history.

The desktop appis for Windows, macOS and Linux and integrates seamlessly with file managers such as Explorer, Finder, Nautilus or Dolphin.

iOS appfor mobile access

The new iOS appisthe newiOS app.appnow enables access to data stored in OpenCloudon the move and offers numerous functions for mobile working: Files can be marked for offline use, documents can be scanned directly in the app and photos can be backed up automatically. Using the sharing function of iOS, files can be conveniently edited and shared -with the same access controls as in the web interface. Face ID and respectively. Touch IDensures additional security.

The iOS appis now available for iPhone and iPad from iOS 15. An Android version of OpenCloudis currently in the development phase and will be available shortly.
