OpenCloud is an open-source platform for file sharing, synchronisation and collaboration, with a focus on data protection, scalability and modern cloud-native architecture.

Is there a free version?

Yes, the Community Edition of OpenCloud is open source and can be run yourself free of charge.

What is the difference between the Community and commercial plans?

Yes, you can upgrade between plans at any time.

Is there a SaaS version?

OpenCloud is primarily designed for self-hosting and sovereign cloud deployments. Managed hosting services are provided through partners.

Subscriptions

Are charges calculated per user?

In the Basic, Professional and Premium plans, charges are calculated per user. With the β€˜High Performance Computing’ add-on, charges are calculated based on storage capacity, as this service is typically accessed by only a small number of users. Please contact us and we will find a solution that suits your needs.

What are the benefits of the subscription in a production environment?

The Community Edition can be used in production. However, commercial plans offer additional stability, security and compliance features.

What does access to Production Releases include?

Production Releases contain versions that have been tested and approved for production use, with stable upgrade paths.

What are LTS releases?

A Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) documents the components and dependencies contained within a system for security and compliance purposes. For example, an SBOM helps to quickly identify whether a system is affected by a critical vulnerability in an open-source library it uses, and which versions need to be updated.

Will I receive security updates before they are released?
