Joint leadership at the Heinlein Group: Jutta Horstmann becomes Co-CEO

Jutta Horstmann becomes the new Co-CEO of the Heinlein Group starting September 15th. Together with our founder Peer Heinlein, she will assume responsibility for the strategic development of the Group and its solutions. This step is far more than just a change in leadership, it is an important element to strengthen digital sovereignty in Europe.

Joint leadership

Jutta Horstmann knows the world of open source from different perspectives: As Managing Director of the Zentrums für digitale Souveränität (ZenDiS), she worked to anchor open IT solutions in public administration. Prior to that, she played a key role in shaping the technological direction and growth of a global company at eyeo (Adblock Plus) as COO and CTO.

What all these positions have in common is a commitment to open technologies and a sustainable IT infrastructure. Values that are also at the centre of the Heinlein Group and which Jutta Horstmann will now continue to drive forward as Co-CEO together with Peer Heinlein.

Elements for digital independence

With OpenCloud, OpenTalk, mailbox and Heinlein Support, we are already providing key elementss for a sovereign and resilient digital infrastructure. Our solutions are open source, can be operated independently and stand for data protection, interoperability and long-term availability. In this way, we support public institutions, companies and civil society in reducing critical dependencies and ensuring sustainable innovation. In this way, we are making a concrete contribution to Europe's technological resilience, both in terms of the political objectives of EuroStack and Deutschland-Stack and in the practical development of trustworthy IT structures.

Conclusion: Shaping the digital future

How can we shape our own digital future? For us, one thing is certain: digital sovereignty has long been more than just a buzzword. It is a strategic necessity that affects us all. Independent, secure and open IT solutions such as OpenCloud are crucial to reducing technological dependencies and remaining capable of acting in the long term - today and in the future.

With the new joint leadership at Group level, we are ideally positioned for this: strategically, technologically and with a clear commitment to a digitally sovereign future for Europe.
