Open Source Day 2025

Open source as a strategic alternative

Peer Heinlein, CEO and founder of the Heinlein Group and OpenCloud, will be speaking on site about the potential and challenges of open source in public infrastructures. In his presentation entitled "A community has to do, what a community has to do", he will shed light on a current case: What happens when proprietary products suddenly disappear? Often the only option is forced migration. Open source offers a sustainable alternative - with the possibility of independent further development, without dependence on individual providers.

In addition, Tobias Baader, Product Manager OpenCloud, will give a presentation on the topic of "OpenCloud: Excellent File Management". In this presentation, he will introduce OpenCloud, show what makes OpenCloud special and give an outlook for 2026. The presentation is aimed at IT managers and anyone interested in a self-determined file cloud.

Open Source at the heart of digitalisation

The Open Source Day brings together experts from business, civil society and the public sector. The aim is to visualise concrete application examples, network stakeholders and promote the exchange of ideas on open source as a driver of innovation. In addition to specialist presentations, the programme includes discussion rounds and networking.

Participation in the Open Source Day is free of charge, but registration via the IHK event page is required:
