The Univention Summit in Bremen is considered one of the central events for open source and digital sovereignty in Germany. Every year, the event brings together software manufacturers, IT service providers and users to discuss current developments, challenges and innovative solutions. With a mixture of exciting keynotes, practice-oriented workshops and a comprehensive exhibition, the summit offers a central platform for professional exchange and networking.
OpenCloud will be represented at the Univention Summit for the first time: The secure open source solution for file management, file sharing and content collaboration will be presented to the public at the event. OpenCloud combines a modern software stack with the principles of digital sovereignty and sets new standards for file sharing, collaboration and long-term file management for companies and public institutions.

Workshop: OnPrem file sharing "next generation": 3 lessons learned for the future
24 January 2025, 12:00–12:45 PM, Room 1: Workshops
What does the future of file sharing look like? Independence from foreign cloud services is more important than ever for data sovereignty. OpenCloud is the new Zero Trust platform for file sync & share: cloud-native and for the highest demands on security, performance and simplicity. As a complete re-write, it sets new standards based on many years of "lessons learned" with ownCloud or Nextcloud. We highlight the three biggest technical and strategic insights and how we are now implementing them consistently with OpenCloud.
With its premiere at the Univention Summit, OpenCloud is sending out a clear signal: Data sovereignty and digital independence are essential today. As a cloud-native open source solution, OpenCloud combines user-friendliness and scalability with a special focus on security and performance. The solution offers an alternative to international platforms and enables companies and authorities to store and manage their data with confidence. OpenCloud can be seamlessly integrated into existing IT infrastructures.
In addition to the presentations and workshops, you will also find the OpenCloud team in the exhibitor area. We look forward to exchanging ideas with you!
