OpenCloud Makes Its Debut at the Univention Summit, 23–24 January 2025
The Univention Summit in Bremen is considered one of the central events for open source and digital sovereignty in Germany. Every year, the event brings together software manufacturers, IT service providers and users to discuss current developments, challenges and innovative solutions. With a mixture of exciting keynotes, practice-oriented workshops and a comprehensive exhibition, the summit offers a central platform for professional exchange and networking.
OpenCloud will be represented at the Univention Summit for the first time: The secure open source solution for file management, file sharing and content collaboration will be presented to the public at the event. OpenCloud combines a modern software stack with the principles of digital sovereignty and sets new standards for file sharing, collaboration and long-term file management for companies and public institutions.

Peer Heinlein, CEO of the Heinlein Group and founder of OpenCloud, will discuss the challenges that arise when proprietary software is discontinued or acquired by competitors. Using a current example, he shows how open source creates the basis for independence and flexibility. It becomes clear why the decision to use open source software is essential to remain viable in the long term.
