OpenCloud at the Chemnitz Linux Days 2026

On 28 and 29 March 2026, the Linux and open source community will come together for the Chemnitz Linux Days (CLT). Under the motto "Sovereign Digitality", the event will bring together developers, admins, people involved in projects and interested parties to share experiences, gain new ideas and engage in dialogue. Two days full of dialogue, practical presentations, workshops and encounters are planned.

OpenCloud presentation: "OpenCloud: Learnings for a simple, stable file cloud"

Tobias Baader (Product Manager) and Klaas Freitag (CTO) will give a compact overview of OpenCloud and show which decisions lead to a stable and easy-to-operate file cloud in practice. The focus will be on fast commissioning, reliable operation and the question of how OpenCloud can be used in different environments in a scalable manner. We will also look at how functions can be specifically extended via web extensions, from pragmatic helpers to special use cases.

Lecture: "IT independence in small businesses with Linux?"

Small businesses outside of traditional IT structures are often faced with the question of how digital processes can function without becoming permanently dependent on proprietary platforms. In his presentation, Klaas Freitag will show which open source tools help, where typical hurdles lie and what it takes to ensure that sovereign IT remains practicable even on a small scale.
