OpenCloud was on site as a sponsor and was represented with a presentation in the programme. Jutta Horstmann, Co-CEO of the Heinlein Group, spoke about digital resilience in practice and the question of how organisations remain capable of acting when proprietary solutions are no longer available in the short term.

Jutta Horstmann: "The day proprietary solutions fall away: Digital resilience in practice"

Many infrastructures are optimised for normal operation until an emergency occurs: accounts are blocked, platforms fail or have to be shut down after a security incident. Communication and collaboration then quickly come to a standstill.

In her presentation, Jutta Horstmann shows why resilience doesn't just start at the moment of crisis, but rather when strategic decisions are made in favour of technologies that ensure control, the ability to switch and the European ability to act. The focus is on key questions: What minimum capabilities need to be safeguarded? Which processes need to be in place in an emergency? And how can emergency communication be prepared in such a way that it does not have to be improvised in the event of a failure?
