DINAcon, the conference for digital sustainability, will take place in Bern on 18 November 2025. It will focus on how data, software and content can bring long-term social and environmental benefits and how digitalisation can be made open, sustainable and accessible.

DINAcon is organised by the CH Open association. Partner organisations such as DIN, Swiss Data Alliance and Parldigi provide support with up-to-date content and speakers from politics, science and the private sector. The conference has been bringing together the community, administration and business since 2016.
OpenCloud is also represented this year: Our CEO Chris Hendriks will be speaking about freedom through open source.
When proprietary products are discontinued or bought out, freedom of choice quickly comes under pressure. Open source offers the freedom to further develop code, build new support chains and avoid the pressure to migrate. But how does this work in practice?
Chris Hendriks reports on software that was worth getting involved with; a team that was determined to keep going; and where theory meets practice, including headwinds. The insight: "Let's fork!" is not a slogan, but a responsible option in the open source sector.
