OpenCloud at the SFSCON 2025 in Bolzano

On 7 and 8 November 2025, the SFSCON - South Tyrol Free Software Conference will take place in Bolzano, Italy. It is dedicated entirely to the topics of free software, open development and digital sovereignty.

SFSCON

SFSCON is one of the most established European open source events and promotes the use of free software in digital infrastructures as a tool for more innovation, transparency and competitiveness. Decision-makers, developers and interested parties meet here to learn from each other and be inspired.

OpenCloud will also be represented this year: Tobias Baader, Product Manager at OpenCloud, will speak on 8 November about experiences and insights from daily work with open source.

Our presentation: Lessons learnt - How to make open source development successful

"Public money, public code!" - a demand that has lost none of its relevance. But what happens when it is actually implemented

In his presentation, Tobias Baader shows how digital sovereignty and modern cloud infrastructures are compatible - especially where public administrations, municipalities and educational institutions take responsibility for their code.

Using concrete examples from the development of OpenCloud, he explains how open source projects can be successfully designed technically, organisationally and legally - and where very practical challenges arise.

It is about experiences, lessons learned and solutions: from open development processes and sustainable software architectures to legal issues surrounding the publication of "public code".

Lessons learned - Guidance on how to make open source development a success
8. November 2025, 13:20
Location: Seminar 2, SFSCON 2025, Bolzano

We look forward to exchanging ideas with all interested parties and all those who want to live digital sovereignty in practice and actively promote open source.
