"A Community has to do, what a Community has to do!"

Peer Heinlein gives a talk at FOSS Backstage 2025 on sustainable and future-proof IT strategies through open source.

Peer Heinlein, CEO of OpenCloud, gives a talk at FOSS Backstage 2025.

OpenCloud is pleased to be represented with a presentation at this year's FOSS Backstage in Berlin. Peer Heinlein will be giving a plea for sustainable and future-proof IT strategies through open source in the auditorium on March 10 at 2 p.m. under the title "A Community has to do, what a Community has to do!". The CEO and founder of OpenCloud will use current examples to show how proprietary software can make companies dependent and lead to forced migrations, while open source solutions offer long-term security, flexibility and independence.

The conference, which takes place on 10 and 11 March 2025, brings together leading representatives of the community, FOSS enthusiasts, managers and developers and deals with the organizational and community aspects of free and open source software. Among other things, the focus will be on community management, legal frameworks and governance.
